Glycemic control protocols tightly manage the
glucose levels of hospital in-patients. Peer-reviewed research
demonstrates dramatic improvements in patient outcomes when
glycemic control protocols have been implemented. Glycemic control
protocols have been implemented for patients in ICU in
cardiothoracic patients, among others. Once used only in the ICU,
glycemic control is now benefiting patients in other medical care
environments.
